She was covered in blood. The girl stood over the cowering man on the floor. His arm was ripped off in a not-so-clean fashion. He begged for mercy. How typical.
"Now tell me, where is Garret Streams?" The girl asked, her smile savage. "Please.. I don't know," the man sobbed. "If you don't then you're of no use to me," she remarked, raising a hand with claws of an eagle, each tip as sharp as diamond.
"No, wait! Please! I know, I know.. I swear to you I know," the man cried. The girl crouched over him, awaiting what he was abou to tell her. "He was at New York! That skyscraper! I don't remember the name," he mumbled between hiccups, wiping his nose with his sleeve.
The girl stood up, her claws retracted, revealing her own pale white skin hand. "Very well," she said simply. "you're letting me go?" the man asked. The girl sighed, clearly annoyed, and kicked his chin upwards, knocking him unconscious.
She turned and walked out of the house. A boy with a face not too different from hers materialized beside her. "You know, you didn't need to scare the man shitless." She sighed, again.
"Yes, I know."
"And you don't need to rip his arm off."
"I know."
"And you don't need to kick the night out of him."
"Yep. Got that point before."
"Valencia, I--"
"Oh, stop babbling, Anthem. We got what we want, right? There's that. Done," the girl named Valencia said, exasperated.
Anthem shrugged. They walked in silence for a bloody-long moment. "So where are we walking to?" he asked, finally breaking the silence.
"I dunno, New York?" Valencia said sarcastically. "We're in London, sis. How'd you expect to walk there?" Anthem mocked. As if to prove his point, they heard the Big Ben chime, striking 12 midnight.
Valencia froze suddenly, remembering something. "See, now you're shocked I'm smarter than you," Anthem sniggered. The girl looked at him with a puzzled face. "What?" "Show me Garret's description again," she ordered. As she spoke, her voice sounded as if it came from a robot.
Anthem sighed and pulled out a piece of paper from his back pocket. There was a picture of a man on it. His hair was scruffy and his jaws set in an unusual angle. A handwriting wrote 'A master performer'. Basically an actor. Exactly the guy whose arm Valencia chopped.
"Shit." anthem looked at her quzzically. "Shit what?" he asked, but his twin were already sprinting towards the house they left minutes ago. "I chopped off Garrets arm!!" she yelled.
Anthem grinned from ear to ear. "Another mistake by the legendary hunter, Valencia Alexis Storm. I should write a book about this," he muttered to himself whilst he ran after her.
"I HEARD THAT!!!"
